Substitute Teacher Vacancies:

LCPS requires that all substitute teachers be a high school graduate. In addition, you must have completed the Effective Teacher Training course offered by the continuing education department of your local community college. If you are licensed as a teacher or have more than three years of experience as a teacher assistant, you do not have to complete the Effective Teacher Training course. Just because you successfully completed the course, does not guarantee that you will be offered a substitute teacher job. Please do not bring your certificate of completion to the Central Office until you are called for an interview. We only accept online applications on the NC DPI website at https://schooljobs.dpi.state.nc.us . There is a link on the home page that will connect you to DPI. Periodically, we review the online applications and select the most qualified applicants to interview. After successful completion of the interview process, we will provide you instructions of additional information that will be needed to complete the hiring process.
