Register your 3, 4, or 5 year old NOW for the 2013-2014 school year

WHERE: At ALL Lenoir County Elementary Schools
TIME: During Regular School Hours
EXTENDED REGISTRATION HOURS: Tuesday, March 19 from 8:00am-7:00pm
SPANISH INTERPRETERS will be available at each school on Tuesday, March 19 from 2:00-7:00 p.m.
Why should I register my child early?
- To ensure that your child is “school-ready” on the first day of school (Monday, August 26, 2013)
- To schedule a time for K-screening
- To answer your questions concerning transportation, immunization, school procedures, location of your child’s school, school supplies, food programs, academic concerns and expectations, etc.
KINDERGARTEN – please bring:
- One of the following Verification of Address documents:
- current power, gas, or water bill;
- current federal or state income tax documents;
- place of residence listed by the Department of Social Services for home visitation and receipt of benefits (not Medicaid); or
- current lease or mortgage statement
- Certified birth certificate (not the “mother’s copy”)
- Full and complete record of the child’s immunizations
- Child’s social security card
PRE-SCHOOL – Please Bring:
- Birth certificate
- Child’s social security card
- Verification of household income (most recent pay stubs)
- Verification of any of the following benefits received in previous year: TANF, child support, Social Security benefits, unemployment benefits, OR other household income
- Verification of guardianship (if applicable)

Habrán intérpretes disponibles de español en cada escuela el día 19 de marzo de las 2:00 a las 7:00 p.m.
¿Por qué debo inscribir a mi hijo de manera anticipada?
- Para asegurase que su hijo esté listo el primer día de clases (el lunes 26 de agosto del 2013)
- Para hacer una cita con la intención de evaluar a su hijo para entrar al jardín de niños
- Para responder cualquier pregunta que tenga acerca del transporte escolar, las vacunas, donde se encuentra la escuela a la que va a asistir su hijo, útiles escolares, programas de alimentación, preocupaciones académicas y lo que espera de la escuela, etc.
JARDÍN DE NIÑOS – pro favor traiga consigo:
- Uno de los siguientes de los siguientes documentos para comprobar su domicilio:
- cuenta de la luz, gas o agua;
- declaración de impuestos federal o estatal;
- comprobante de domicilio tal y como se encuentra en los archivos de la ofna de la seguridad social para efectos de visitas domiciliarias o recepción de beneficios (no Medicaid) o;
- hipoteca o contrato de renta actual de su casa.
- Copia certificada del acta de nacimiento (no la copia que le dan a la madre en el hospital)
- Cartilla de Vacunación completa y llena del niño.
- Tarjeta del Seguro Social (no un requisito si no la tiene)

- Acta de Nacimiento
- Tarjeta del Seguro Social (no un requisito si no la tiene)
- Verificación de ingresos (recibos de pago más recientes)
- Verificación de haber recibido cualquiera de los siguientes beneficios durante el año anterior: TANF, pensión alimenticia, beneficios del Seguro Social, beneficios por desempleo O cualquier otro tipo de ingreso.

The Lenoir County business community opened their doors to the students of North and South Lenoir High Schools by participating in the Lenoir County Schools Career and Technical Education (CTE) Job Shadowing program. Now in its sixth year, this is one event students look forward to each year. Many seniors are doing it for their third time. The event helps students learn about possible career paths and the day-to-day work life in those fields.
South Lenoir High School held their Job Shadowing Day on December 6, 2012. With the same screening process, 167 students attended in 66 businesses including the Pink Hill and Deep Run community.
Students and faculty in the eight career and technical education (CTE) programs in our public middle and high schools will join others across the nation during the month of February to celebrate national CTE Month. This year’s theme is “Career and Technical Education Works.”
Lenoir County Public Schools is pleased to announce the release of its new logo. The logo celebrates the relationship between the four education stakeholders - students, parents, educators, and the community - and symbolizes the school system's focus on culminating those relationships to connect our children to a prosperous future.
